1. Eyes

  • Prevent annoying reflections, and make for an appropriate contrast between the screen and the surrounding area. Please note that in modern office environments, it is possible that the window area and thus the degree of light is great. Through the use of Sun protection can be bothersome in the monitor incident sunlight. Horizontal blinds (such as roller blinds and horizontal blinds) is more effective to the interfering shielding than horizontal light vertical blind, like the traditional vertical blinds.
  • Twice per hour the focus to an object at large distances can be much oogongemakken. Pause software offers short breaks, in order to remind you.

 

 

2. Reading display
  • When using multiple applications at the same time, it is recommended to use two monitors, or a large screen (≥ 22 inch) that is shared in half. With extended use of a laptop with a small screen (< 15 inch) it is better to connect to an external display.
  • The distance to the monitor depends on the font size. It works most comfortable with relative size characters and a viewing distance of 60 to 70 cm (size and viewing distance ratio: 1:150).
  • The angle between the line and the horizontal line should look for the entire screen monitor at least 10 to 20 °.


3. Sit

  • The Chair should at least the EN 1335-1, but preferably also to the NPR 1813:2003.
  • A tilt Chair, with the seat and backrest angle remains the same, is recommended over a chair with a synchronous mechanism (ratio 1:2 or backrest movement session compared to 1:3).
  • Support the poor well during computer work by comfortable and height-adjustable armrests or possibly by (a) worksheet.


4. Reading and writing

The documents must be in line with the monitor and keyboard are placed on a slippery slope. Writing should be placed the documents in a light driver area, close to the body.


5. Work with a laptop

To ergonomic and productive should a laptop be combined with external monitor or a laptop holder with a separate keyboard and mouse.


6. Carrying a laptop

Prolonged carrying a laptop and any accessories is stressful, especially when the weight above 6 km. A laptop trolley or backpack lowers this tax, when using public transport or bicycle/motor is a backpack the most obvious choice, while a trolley in the other cases is preferred.
 
 
 

7. Mental fatigue
  • An effective remedy for mental fatigue is the work with other tasks. Those other tasks can rest, but also actively do something else leads to mental refreshment (for example, move or do something else what the personal interest). E.g. using CtrlWORK Efficiency Software.
  • It is important to the work tasks and tax to adjust to the natural daily rhythm, the Biorhythm. Keep this in mind in planning the tasks.
 
 
 8. Mouse
 
  • It is important that the mouse close to the body. A compact keyboard or a central positioned mouse makes this possible.
  • Mice is a precision task in which one by small fast movements move the cursor and click. Therefore, it is recommended to choose a mouse that you move from the fingertips, such as a penmuis or precision mouse.
  • In many cases, it is faster to use keyboard shortcuts (www.sneltoetsen.nl) to call a function, instead of the mouse 
 

9. Enter text

  •  De afstand tussen het midden van de ene tot de volgende toets moet 19 mm  
  • Tijdens het aanslaan (induwen) van de toets moet een duidelijke feedback voelbaar en hoorbaar zijn.
  •  Een compact toetsenbord verkleint de reikafstand naar de muis en verlaagt daarmee de belasting voor de schouder.

10. Sit and/or stand
 
  • The table should be placed at or slightly below elbow height. The worksheet is preferably adjustable between 60 to 82 cm and at is-sta-tables from 60 to 125 cm (minimum of 62 to 120 cm).
  • A is-sta-table is preferred over a just (about) Office.
